You need to start pulling away at the knot to figure out your plan of attack, and oftentimes, you don’t get it right on the first attempt. I find parallels in personal finances as well. You might have a plan that is mostly put together, until you start looking under the hood and find a kink in the chain, that once fixed, really enhances your outlook. Or, you can continue to ignore it, and what ends up happening is a knot so big, it’s more costly to fix, and worst-case scenario, it’s unrepairable. Regardless of the emotions these questions create, developing good habits, like exercising, meditating, following a certain diet, or saving for your goals, is a challenge we all share. While you may have a financial advisor already or don’t think one is necessary, it’s important to craft a financial plan and formulate a strategy that will enable you to achieve your goals. Even if you are 100% on board with the strategy you’ve agreed to adopt, take a step back to acknowledge if you’re truly following through on your agreed-upon tasks.
